Yes. Minister of Economy and Trade Decision No. 21 of 2004 caps light vehicles (passenger cars and light cargo up to 3 t) at 5 years and heavy vehicles at 10 years. The law counts from the model year in the ownership documents, but importers report Qatar Customs applying the manufacture date on the VIN plate in practice, so a 2026 import must generally be built 2021 or later. We confirm the reading for your specific unit before you commit.
What certification does a used car need for Qatar?
A GCC Certificate of Conformity (GSO 42 general requirements / GSO 48 certificates of conformity), ratified by Qatar's standards body QGOSM, plus a mandatory FAHES technical inspection before the car can be registered. Since MoCI Circular No. 02 of 2025 the sale or display of non-GCC-spec new or used cars is prohibited. We arrange the CoC at the Shanghai end through accredited labs.
Can I ship a right-hand-drive car to Qatar?
