Certification: EAEU E-Mark
Any vehicle entering EAEU must have an E-Mark conformity approval. For vehicles already sold in EAEU markets (which most current Chinese exports are), this is straightforward. For niche models it can take 5-10 business days. Cost typically USD 300-800 per model type (not per vehicle) if the model is not already in the E-Mark registry.
Duty Structure (2026 baseline)
- Passenger vehicle: Customs duty typically 20-30% (EAEU common tariff); VAT 12%; recycling collection fee scales with engine size and vehicle age.
- EV: Duty is meaningfully lower — check current EAEU EV incentive at time of order. Some categories are 0-5% duty as of early 2026.
- Individual buyer vs commercial: Different tariff schedules apply.
Routes & Shipping Times
- Aktau (Caspian Sea port) — Via Bandar Abbas (Iran) or via rail from China. Sea+land total 15-22 days from China. Good for volume shipments.
- Khorgos overland — Rail or truck from China direct. 8-14 days transit. Ideal for single-unit and small-batch. This is our most-used route.
- Almaty (destination inland) — Add 1-3 days from Khorgos.
- Astana — Add 2-4 days from Khorgos.
